Whilst I appreciate the obviously hammy dialogue and editing is deliberately reminiscent of classic Stephen King cinema, the overall experience didn’t fully click with me. The performances felt weirdly stilted even considering the dialogue, and the gore (one the marketing’s mains draws to the film) despite being funny at times, didn’t really have an impact, which a horror comedy - it still should… A fun watch but not anything to write home about.

I adore the voyeuristic camera work and score that elevates what should be a run of the mill horror film to a pretty great experience. I admire the allegory and how well the subject matter is handled. Worth a watch.
