Heretic 2024
We’re comprised of three principles: logic, emotion, and spirituality—with the last being the most challenging. What Heretic did for me was reiterate the fact I don’t know shit about fuck, while letting me enjoy killer performances and fun plot twists. Sure, we can go on about how this film "does nothing new," but to that I say—what does? Humanity has been recycling the same ideas forever, and honestly, this is a damn good movie.

Safe to say that political ideologies are replacing religion; echo chambers are rising in prominence, vulnerable people are being exploited while unifying issues are cast aside in favor of divisive ones. Tale as old as time: divide and conquer—and it continues to be repeated.

Vertigo 1958
I'm intimidated by older movies. Somehow I always manage to think they'll be less engaging, but I've been wrong about that every time so far. "Vertigo" is a great example of how rewarding these classics can be. Stellar performances and terrific filmmaking. The lead actor was particularly impressive. I thoroughly enjoyed this and I'm glad I overcame my stupidity to do so.
