    Confusingly, it’s probably the best detective film I’ve seen, bar Chinatown.

    Confusing because it’s built on the premise of hypnotism, with the hint of the occult—bound together by an untrustworthy narrative that drags its heels at every opportunity. Anything short of perfection would probably mean it was messy, or just overtly pretentious. It avoids this—and then some.

    On the surface, it’s about a detective investigating a string of brutal murders committed by ordinary people who don’t seem to know why…

    Very boring - interspersed with lines of gut wrenching *poo-serving* lines. Think carbon monoxide poisoning with cigarettes burns at random intervals.

    Every time Skarsgård speaks, he somehow gets more naked and more bloody, sometimes without reason.

    Every time FKA Twigs delivers a line ripped from a fan fiction smut piece (in the chimney sweep voice), her hairline recedes.
