  I don’t even know where to begin but... This movie was painfully long. Weirdly entertaining. With the B-movie gore and good performances, this movie was a mixed bag. Substance was as corny as it was cinematic. Cinematography was memorable and abstract. Practical effects were cool and nauseating. Demi Moore was awesome. Margaret Qualley was ruthless. This was an enjoyable but gross movie-going experience. Take The Substance with a crowd and never watch it again. Unless you’re sick in the head. 💉
