  I think Ang Lee is more aware to what the film does/is than people are giving it credit for -- for one, the tossing of the Advil towards the end of the film. There are heavy soap opera elements and 90s style sitcom editing (not as obvious, but the inspiration is there), an experimental film for the masses. Here's a movie that might struggle from being adviertised differently than what it is. I think it's a film made to be experienced at the theatre in what Lee calls the "whole-shabang" format (3D, 120 FPS and 4K), and I think it works.

Following
