Yes, it is like a vampire, is it not?

On the year of its 100th anniversary, I felt I should finally give this a proper watch.

Nosferatu's strengths come from the very fact that it is this old. The very motion of these films begets an eerie atmosphere that suits horror perfectly, especially when the vampire is the dominant force on screen. Every aspect of filmmaking suits making Nosferstu as bone chilling as possible. Static shots where the only movement…

I did as I pleased. You do the same.

This was my first Japanese Godzilla film, the reason I started my marathon and to cap it off, I'm watching it again. Revisiting it for the first time in years feels a little surreal. My initial review was garbage so I'm here to finally do this film the justice it deserves.

This film is very clearly a political satire. The reason it feels like its just a bunch of the same…

I get it. Its all punishment.

I'm glad we're in the arc of both Pattinson and Bong's careers where they're doing a one actor playing two roles movie. And just like Nasha, I'll always take more Robert Pattinson. He's fun to watch and he's the perfect fit for Bong's sense of humor.

Hey! I'm still good meat! I'm perfectly good meat! I taste fine!

We got typical Bong anticapitalism. Ths time placed in a colonization story which exposes the concentrated…

Why does God appear to them and not us?

This is simply effective. Its freaky enough to have chills going down my spine and my eyes watering in fright. This film is like seeing a predator stalking you in the darkness, it uses our innate fear of darkness and the unknown against us. Its evolutionary horror layered upon religious themes, of course I'm gonna love this.

It starts off as this amorphous thing. But with experience you can push your…

The nervous hope that you are.

    The acceptance that you aren't.

The refusal to think about it.

    I'm very certain.

    ...That's the highest.

    I know.

    Is your war finally over?

I never thought we might see a Godzilla set even before the 1954 original. Godzilla Minus One is set emphatically post World War II. Japan is in a state of absolute ruin, our character's homes surrounded by debris for as long as we see it. I cannot imagine how world shattering it is to live in this condition, constantly reminded of war and people lost in it every time you step outside. Those who fought…
