Reality mockumentary. I only watched the series itself for the first time recently (it's all on YouTube) but loved the repetitive humour, daft writing and 'bro' caricatures. The film is more of the same, effectively it is your standard 'end of sitcom feature film' but it doesn't outstay its welcome or give off cash-in vibes, it feels very fresh and a natural end for the characters. Love it.

Smile 2022
Happy horror. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, it's full of hokey jump scares and stilted dialogue but I can't deny I was having fun. For me it was a little too long though and had I not had the sequel ready and waiting, I would have found that ending really unsatisfactory.

Toy Story 4 2019
I hate this film even more now. My brother in law - bless him - has bought a talking Woody for my daughter for Christmas. It looks great, and you'd expect it to say such classic lines as 'theres a snake in my boot' and 'reach for the sky' right?
No, it's all just shit about Forky. 'We gotta find Forky!', 'Forky!' etc. Fucking Forky. The worst character in the series by a country mile and now I'm going to have to hear his name every day until the batteries run out. Fuck off.

The Holdovers 2023
Snowed-in odd couple (throuple?) japes. This hit every possible mark for me, astounding character work and period detail and just purely fucking funny when it needs to be. In a week when I've been slagging off Christmas films for their lack of originality here we have one of those rarest of beasts - exactly what I needed.
Brilliant throughout and absolutely not too early to say it easily ranks among the best Christmas films of all time. 20 minutes could have been trimmed off, but hey - 'tis the season (just).
