The first DBZ movie that sets up a number of the movie-continuity conventions, including the always annoying Icarus and Piccolo's arm stretching. No explanation is given for why Goku and Turles look exactly alike, and this caused me no end of confusion when trying to watch this as a kid. Fun fighting but not much plot to speak of and fuck that stupid baby dragon.

The Young Poisoner's Handbook 1995
A very weird and very British movie about a young psychopath who develops a love for poison and murders his stepmother. You'd think the movie would be more about that, but instead he goes to a mental asylum and gets let out on account of quackery. Soon he's back to killing people with thallium. Apparently based on a true story tho it admits that it changed a lot, mostly to obscure those involved.

I Saw the TV Glow 2024
Utter shit. I'm annoyed that my friend made me sit through this woke, pretentious A24 garbage. Save your sanity and do not watch this.

Nosferatu 2024
Oh why not one more day of Christmas (they do mention its Christmas time while Orloc is running around spreading death). Eggers does it again with another spectacular film that flaunts the Academy's disgusting quota system and shows an 1800s Germany that feels far more authentic than the usual mandatory LA casting. The cinematography is amazing and all the actors do a great job, including Depp's nepo baby (who has a long career ahead of her) and of course Eggers' favorite actor, Willem Dafoe. Not sure whether this or Smile 2 is the movie of the year, but it's a close contest.
