When I was somewhere in the neighborhood of seven or eight years old this was playing in letterboxed format on TV and my dad forced me to watch it and I was sooooo booooooored. Because I am on target to check off the last few Best Picture winners soon, I wanted to *really* watch this as a grownup before I cross the finish line.

I set out to take this movie in on its own terms without constantly thinking about its influences and all it influenced, but it wasn't long before I realized this movie's own terms are exactly that kind of conversation with the genre. Anyway... Alexa, play SPAGHETTII
I am so embarrassed for this movie for coming out at the same time as THE LODGE it's like wearing the same dress as the hottest chick at the party, and also spilling a full bowl of soup on the front and ripping the back to expose your laundry day underwear.
