Kati Outinen plays her role as the film's protagonist very well considering what she's given to work with, and she does a good job of making you empathise with her (although given what she goes through, it wouldn't take much). Beyond that however this film really felt lifeless in the worst way for me.

Two hours of what is effectively exposition, and it does meander a little more than I'd like in the first half, but it really builds into something special. The obfuscation of modernity is slyly exaggerated (although perhaps wouldn't have felt like much of a reach in the 1960s) with amusing results.
