Sterling K. Brown is so great in this - I'd love to see him in a good Shane Black movie someday.
The form of Birdman and the function of a musician biopic, with the frantic energy of the former winning out over the self-aggrandizing tendencies of the latter. Hard not to get swept up in the fun of it all. Brilliant casting for the most part.

Aw man, not another actionized sequel to a beloved horror movie. Phantasm was eerie, uncanny, and actually about something. It might have been all a dream! How does a follow-up even work? What’s the point? These, in hindsight, are stupid questions. I underestimated Don Coscarelli & Co’s commitment to being freaky, goopy guys.
