  can’t rate an unfinished film accurately & this is really fragmentary but Welles showing off something he finds interesting is as charming as Lynch cooking quinoa or Herzog eating his shoe. the simplicity of finding out what a filmmaker will do with free time and no budget is something I wish we could see more often from the greats.

  “I’ve had a rough year, Dad”
  I’ve watched this too many times and there’s still a few scenes that get me. Gene Hackman knew how to play an asshole/son of a bitch. Side by side with the Life Aquatic shows how much Anderson can redeem (or at least soften the edges on) an unlikable asshole.
