The Northman 2022
I wanted to like this movie more than I did. Lots of cool cinematic moments that make it totally worth seeing in theatres (the final shot of Anya Taylor-Joy, also in the trailer, is so sick). Mad respect for the historical accuracy of the production. They depict rape and pillage in a surprisingly tasteful way - which is refreshing after 7 years of Game of Thrones. You know when you’re scrolling on Instagram, and you watch people post stories about horrific acts of genocide b2b with selfies in their Gulf island cabins? Eating oysters and drinking biodynamic wine? This movie left me with a similar feeling.
