Such a powerful movie that still speaks to the human condition 70 years later

I ended up seeing this twice with both my brother and then some friends. For some reason this reminded me of Dante’s Inferno (which I barely remember but had to read for school years ago.) Maybe it’s the two characters going from vignette to vignette but it’s a fairly simple story and more focused on the characters and their relationships. I enjoyed the movie overall and the visual style was definitely a huge chunk of that but I don’t think it needed 10 Oscar nominations.

My introduction to David Lynch. Still probably one of the weirdest movies I’ve ever seen. First movie that made me question what a movie could be and how it could look. Loved Lynch ever since.
