Couple of characters that felt like they had no purpose or overstayed their welcome like Ada’s family which padded the middle of the film but it’s not to the detriment of the overall story. It started strong and especially ended strong with one of the most beautifully filmed sequences i’ve seen. the use of colour, framing and music brought the whole thing together in a very poignant but excitingly romantic embrace between Ada and Suleiman. This is a bit of a weird movie but it is fully aware of that. The camera angles and lighting I feel work in tandem with the film rather than against it despite its perceived wonkiness. hard shadows is a staple in addition to warm light which highlights character and character moments.
