Incredible movie. Understand why this is considered one of the best stories that continues to resurface nearly 200 years later. This movie reminds me a lot of my recent experience watching Gladiator. The story is relatively simple, but the characters are well fleshed out and their motivations are clear and interesting. I really enjoyed the way everything unfolded in the end as well. Just an enjoyable watch thru and thru.

Great movie. Loved the first act, didn’t love the 2nd and 3rd act as much. Bill skarsgaard kills his role. Truly creepy. I thought the mystique of the orlock carried so much of the horror here and was really taken advantage of in the first act but wasn’t much further explored after that. Also had some questions about the main conflict that kind of took away from the story. There’s a few insane shots in this movie that I can still picture. A very immersive movie imo. Overall great

Enjoyed the story but wasn’t super floored by it. Some of the plot directions feel forced and the characters just don’t make some great decisions/ don’t communicate well lol. But it somewhat works for its more musical-style filmmaking. Also not really sure why people don’t like the ending, I think it adds to the story…

What I continue to think about for this movie is the scale. Got to see this in IMAX, and I can say that it’s a movie that truly benefits from watching it in the theater. The soundtrack, sound design, aesthetic, cinematography all are the lead contributors to this movie being an absolute spectacle. It’s maybe the most grand film I’ve ever seen.

This doesn’t receive a 5 from me bc I think my personal enjoyment of the film wasn’t as…
