Mickey 17 2025
Gosh this was somehow so boring. The performances are stellar all around, and Mark Ruffalo steals every scene. I just can’t escape the fact that I wanted this to be over from about halfway through the runtime.
Gonna go re-watch Parasite and Snowpiercer to reinvigorate my love for Bong Joon-Ho.

Watchmen 2009
I’ve seen Watchmen multiple times, and it still resonates with me. Beneath its dark, stylized exterior, it carries surprising emotional weight, exploring love, loss, and the passage of time.
Unlike the Marvel formula, Watchmen focuses on flawed antiheroes, making it one of the first films that truly captured my interest in that archetype. The opening montage set to Bob Dylan’s The Times They Are a-Changin’ is a brilliant piece of storytelling, setting the perfect tone.
Even after multiple viewings, it remains a bold and thought-provoking take on the superhero genre.

John Wick: Chapter 4 2023
This movie was fucking awesome. A strong contender for the second best action movie of the last 5 years (bonus points if you can guess #1).
It’s certainly another John Wick movie, but MAN did the lighting, cinematography, and music ever get ratcheted up this time around. This whole flick has such a cool vibe. I’d say this instalment is clearly stronger than the last two, and maybe the best of them all.
Also, that overhead tracking sequence in the third act was absolutely incredible and one of the coolest action scenes ever put to film.
