    Better Man

    ★★★½

With absolutely no knowledge of Robbie Willaims or Take That, I have to say Better Man surprised me.

The film has some great numbers, excellent choreography, and an impressive production nailed by sophisticated cinematography.

However, the biggest issue with Better Man is its inconsistent pace and more thinly connected scenes that flow from each major number. As a result, many prominent character moments fall flat and come off more conventional for a film that is anything but that.

Though Better Man is flawed, it is an entertaining romp that deserves a lot more praise than it gets credit for.

    And, yeah, the monkey works.

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie

    ★★★½

The Day the Earth Blew Up is such a breath of fresh air, considering the sameness coming out of Hollywood. The film is a straight-up-by-the-numbers Looney Tunes movie with hilarious slapstick comedy and unique animation that stands out from the Disney drab plaguing Hollywood.

Though the film's laughs are sometimes hit and miss, and the pace is a bit all over the place, The Day The Earth Blew Up still succeeds in staying true to these timeless characters that have been out of the spotlight for too long.

-Massive props to Ketchup Entertainment for bringing this film to audiences!

    The Monkey

    ★★★

The Monkey is the definition of dark comedy. The movie is hilarious, with great practical effects, deaths, and production.

However, aside from a solid exposition, the film is more flash in the pan that completely hits a wall during its second and third acts.

The Monkey’s lack of character development and basic plot drags the film down to something more done for cheap laughs than making an impact.

    Black Bag

    ★★★★

Black Bag is an excellent cut-and-dry spy thriller that returns Soderberg to his Ocean's-esque roots. Matched by David Koepp's exceptional dialogue and outstanding performances, particularly by Fassbender and Blanchett, Black Bag is an exciting thrill ride that maintains steam through its perfect hour-and-a-half runtime.
