Have watched this film so many times and every time I discover something great, and this time I was in total awe of Peggy Wood, what an amazing voice she has. The whole soundtrack is wonderful but I steer towards the songs performed by the adults (Julie Andrews, Bill Lee, Peggy Wood etc)

Love the artist (Kate, Ralph), hate the art. I like a film that makes you think and struggle but this is a pretty open and shut case, she joined the SS in 1943 when she knew what she was getting in to. The BS of the prison worker trying to build sympathy for her with Michael was pretty despicable. Doesn’t age well and will only get worse from here

This 1950s British version of Parks and Rec makes government bureaucracy seem so exciting and so mundane. Nighy’s performance is top notch as always, this being a more quiet character than he usually plays. Aimee Lou Wood, who I only know from Sex Education, playing Williams’ cheerful colleague and patient best friend is a role she’s so good at- very excited to watch her career further develop. Loved the score and production design as well.

Pattinson, Ackie, Ruffalo, Collette shine (I could’ve gone without the Steven Yeun storyline but I’ll always love him so I’ll sit through anything he’s in). Especially loved the minor characters that make the landing vessel run, like the scene with the loading dock attendant and the truck driver. Loved Dorothy obv because we believe scientists in our home, and loved the bit with…
