  Love Hurts 2025

  This is stupid. 15-20 years ago this would have been a Jackie Chan film. But this is fun and entertaining. The action isn’t groundbreaking but it keeps you invested and few times it’s brutal. There are some fun characters. Marshawn Lynch steals scenes again (see Bottoms). Ke Huy Quan deserved a better action movie post Oscar. He’s great and if someone can give him a real Jackie Chan like film (see Rumble in the Bronx or Police Story) he’s gonna be a house hold action name for a very long time. Also, would love to see him in a film with or vs Keanu.

  I don’t know how Bong Joon Ho (it was probably the three Oscars) talked that idiot that leads the Warner to give him him over $100 million to fund a very odd and wild sci-fi film…but I’m very happy he did. This is just fun and nuts. Yes, it has a lot of say (all of Bong’s films do). But it’s not heavy handed. The cinematography is beautiful. R Pat is fantastic as usual (that’s my dude!!).   I didn't know how to start this review. I thought I hate Sandra Bullock was a bit too harsh. Even though it's not far from the truth. Then I came up with I'm a movie hipster sometimes. But I've done that before. What could entice some to read this? I think I have your attention now with my honesty. I could go into my hearing about Gravity and then the trailers not doing it for me.   This movie goes for it all and more. I couldn't believe some of the things it gets away with. But I'm so happy that it does. The entire cast is great but Vince Vaughn really takes it all and runs. From the homages to the characters, emotional beats, and some excellent gore, this film is a blast. This is the way you make a slasher film now. My only issue is the tried and true but done way too much…
