'Is that the correct answer to the multiple choice of me?'
The lawyer defending the evil company against the class action suit is perhaps the least nuanced stock character in the history of cinema and this film, through Tom Wilkinson, takes one of them and dares to ask 'what would this do to your soul?'

Something about this operation feels unreal. The open spaces, the illogical way characters move/are moved from room to room, the lack of any real community between the prisoners: it's all rather nightmarish, but not in a woozy or expressionistic way. This is a grounded hell with no bravery.

Anyone who tells you they enjoyed this movie has duped themselves into thinking this because they feel smart for understanding 10% of it.
There's a difference between a challenging movie that forces you to pay close attention to understand the complexities of the plot and.....well, this: a two-and-a-half hour slog that thinks being complex is a virtue in and of itself.
Why is it impossible to follow? Well, significant portions of dialogue are incomprehensible over the soundtrack for a start!…
