rewatched la la land today and it did not hit the same way as before. i must’ve been really going through some heartbreak the first time i watched it because i was weepinggggg at the end scene lmao.
music and the color grading still 10/10 beautiful though. one of my favorite soundtracks & will learn mia & seb’s theme song in the piano soon!!

the movie itself started off pretty slowly, but the last 20 minutes absolutely slapped. love the overall message around the necessity of community & the ancestor scene wrecked me. (it even made jae cry which is extremely rare)
there was also a little girl sitting next to us watching it with her dad and her commentary throughout the movie was so cute & funny. “(with the best comedic timing)….. daddy, is moana dead?”
