  How the hell was this not nominated for a single Oscar?! COME ON!! One of the best movies of 2024, hands down. I don’t know a damn thing about tennis, other than the fact that you hit a ball back and forth with a racket, but this movies had me totally engrossed! Incredible performances, kinetic camerawork, killer score by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, and sexy as all get out, even though there isn’t a single sex scene! But the chemistry between Zendaya, Mike Frost, and Josh O’Conner is palpable. Sweat is quite literally dripping off screen!

  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 2017

  What’s most impressive to me is not the visuals or the soundtrack or the performances, though those are all as good here as they were in Vol. 1 - but the fact that JamesGunn can deliver multiple emotional payoffs. I felt for the sisterly bond between Gamora and Nebula and for Rocket realizing that his new-found family won’t leave him no matter how much he pushes them away and especially for Yandu saving his kid and getting a Ravager funeral. 

  I’m glad Gunn’s returning to finish his trilogy but it’s a real shame the MCU lost him to DC.
