The lore behind this film is almost as wild as the film itself. Also don’t bother looking for a version with good subtitles, it doesn’t exist, and if it did it would take away 80% of the whimsy (presumably)

maybe i just really fucking hate awkwafina (i haven’t forgotten about you building your comedy career off the appropriation of black culture, NORA) but this movie really missed the mark for me
the film overall was very confused, and felt like it was trying to be 4 different movies at once. and don’t get me wrong, i love a little genre mixing and subversion of tropes! this just isn’t a good example of that type of creative decision
wasted opportunity with nicholas ho(ul)t and nic cage together but tragically, good casting choices don’t equal a good film

saw 100% more penis than i expected going into this film
honestly? ollie is a messy queer icon, and brought a fun new meaning to eat the rich (heh)
look, if the little freak wants to use the cattons’ vapidity and greed against themselves in order to slowly usurp saltburn, who am i to say he can’t?
biggest complaint is that felix deserved better but overall, big “good for her” vibes by the end
even the uncomfortable stuff was beautifully shot and the stylistic choices were right up my alley, so it’s gonna be a solid 4 stars from me
