    They Were Expendable

    ★★★

While obviously made for propaganda purposes given the year of release, They Were Expendable is nonetheless a classic of the WWII genre, likely meaning a great deal to the great men who had just won the war mere months ago. Ice Age: The Last Adventure of Scrat (The End)

Hearing the news about the end of Blue Sky was like hearing the news about the death of a long estranged friend. You haven’t really liked them or been in contact for years; but their passing leaves you shocked and sad all the same.

This was a bittersweet way to close out the Ice Age saga. The heart of these movies was always Scrat. He deserved to finally get a win.
