  Nothing will convince me that anyone that has seen this weird AF musical believes it’s award worthy. It’s like someone deliberately mashed all the worst possible things you could make a musical about into a single film. It’s completely baffling watching it. It feels like a weird vanity project the same way that Megalopolis is. 

  Selena Gomez really never gets to show off her talents. Zoe Saldana for as interesting as she is in the role essentially talks her way…

  A waste of time and money. If you've already seen the anime series this is nothing you need to see. They've re-edited the first half of the anime series into a two hour movie, cutting out any of the emotional attachment you had to the characters along the way to make it a tighter story, though sitting through two hours of re-hashed scenes was still hard to do.

  And I don't even necessarily hate the idea of making a movie…

  Absolute garbage. Tasteless, racist, offensive, terrible film making, story, characters, directing. A movie that makes me say "Eric Roberts should be better than this!"
