I think this does not compare well to Up in the Air, a later Reitman flick dealing with some similar themes of the people who learn to thrive in corporate America and the toll it takes on their souls. Without empathy for the protagonist the humor and pathos both fall flat to me, and it ends up feeling more like a moralizing comedy of Bush-era liberals. Still has some charisma, but I feel it hasn’t aged the best. (Could be cool to teach this in a freshman writing and rhetoric class paired with Gorgias though.)

I Heard It Through the Grapevine 1982
Obviously incredible subject material and footage but I found that something about the editing made this difficult to process.

Total Recall 1990
This movie rules. Visually brilliant. They should keep making gritty, intricately plotted, unselfconsciously trashy sci fi movies about dreams like they did in the 90s.
