Really enjoyed this one. It sort of spoke to me on another level but I know not a single thing about Chinese culture. I loved the outsider feel and it was so fun. Definitely teared up at the end with the mom. Very much enjoyed this one.
I really liked this one. I thought it was basically going to be 12 Angry Men so I was skeptical. But it wasn’t and I was pleasantly surprised.
I thought the pace of revealing facts and the story was really well done. And I love the moral dilemma of there being gray areas. It’s almost the age old less dramatic question of “is killing 100 people to save the whole population worth it?” If you had to. I’m watching too many sci fi movies/tv shows…
Oh my fucking god.
Wow. I grew up with this music, when I saw the show on Broadway in 6th grade. As a theater geek, my entire circle of friends constantly sang the songs and quoted it.
This film exceeded all expectations and quelled any doubts I had. So many chills and laughter, Ariana grande is probably my favorite part of the movie. She does not disappoint.

This has everything you want in a gladiator movie with a touch of game of thrones. My problem was that I had way more interest in the Rome politics than in Paul Mescal’s character. I wish he was more involved with the scheming side of things but I guess that’s okay. His character was just sort of there. It sort of played as a device in the end but it didn’t have as much weight until that point.
Overall though a fun entertaining movie.
