  Usually I'm a fan of The Asylum movies. This one just didn't do it for me. Despite its interesting premise the plot failed to hold my interest. Mostly because of the poor cgi & annoying characters. I will give these movie some credit for the fun deaths. If you like low budget films this one might be off you.

  The very definition of a slow burn. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing it just won't be everyone's cup of tea. I thought it was an interesting watch. The director did an excellent job building on dread through atmosphere & an eerie soundtrack. The whole film leaves you second guessing what is real & what's not. More specifically if the main character is crazy or if the world actually is ending. It's a different & more real portrayal of mental illness. It really…

  This movie managed to get under my skin because of it's authenticity. It's genuinely scary because of how realistic the story is. Something like this could actually happen it. And shooting the movie from the cameras angles gave this movie a voyeuristic feel. You can't help but cringe as you watch this. I recommend checking it out.

  Dark Was the Night 2014

  A tense, slow-burn thriller packed with an emotional punch thanks to phenomenal acting. Especially Kevin Durand! The story actually makes you care what happens to the characters. The director does a great job building up the pace with some tense nail-biting scenes by showing little hints(feet!)& shadows of the creature. The town's dark, foreboding atmosphere adds on to this. I will say I was extremely let down by the creature reveal & ending but don't let that stop you from checking out this awesome indie creature feature.
