I'm surprised Letterboxd hated this more than I did. Yes, its a shameless Disney reboot and plays a loooooot like THE FORCE AWAKENS. But its also an obvious reworking of what would've been Ridley Scott's 3rd PROMETHEUS film so its not totally artless underneath. Problem is Fede Alvarez. The final Stooges short ever is a Curly remake with Joe and a Marilyn Monroe wannabe. Not great or terrible. Its like a ceremonial graduation for Joe into a legit Stooge. Jim Carrey broke his no sequel rule for a kid-friendlier movie that is still very edgy. This is showcase of Carrey at his rubbery & energetic peak as a slapstick physical comedian. We also get an IN LIVING COLOR reunion from Tommy Davidson.
What makes this memorable is the racial politics as Ace saves two…
