Bon mot <--> Trenchant Insight
I rewatched this with my partner (who only had a surface level familiarity with the film) in the context of 2025's fascistic late stage capitalism.
I wish I'd the privilege to experience a mid-life crisis/awakening like Andre, illtellyathatmuch.
Most of us KNOW these things but it doesn't hurt for them to be repeated. And those who don't? Hopefully they will one day. Or at least be content walking to the post office to mail bills.
I mean. Seeing charges auto-deducted on their estatements.

I'd never seen this outside of required pop culture clips.
1) As someone who was raised Catholic in a primarily Catholic community I find it /fascinating/ what this movie was trying to portray and why.
I'll never understand why christianity based in the second and third great awakenings deemphasized the trinity and Christ's humanity. Like that's one of the BEST narratives about those first four books. (Like I mean I GET why. But Like... Christ XD)
