Reductive in places with much needed nuance. Sluggish but still rambling minutes after the point in a scene has already been made.
By design or by accident, makes important characters incompetent, or irrelevant, but ultimately muddles the entire story's synthesis for both its characters and audience. For a film that wants to dispel slippery slopes used against certain ideologies, it may do more harm than good.

I understand how difficult and time-consuming it is to produce a documentary, but I get the sense that Maria was increasingly going up against a coverage and timing problem. This resulted in the docu feeling uneven, incomplete, and with nothing new to present. Most is already interpreted in other work, or already dated news.
