Parasite 2019
I thought this film was so cool. Even though I knew many of the major events that would happen from the class readings, the film itself was still so engaging and suspenseful. I thought the plot was very clever, and I really liked the many different camera angles throughout. Parasite also emphasized the class divide in such an interesting way.

I liked how the film focused on the sisters and their different ways of dealing with boundaries. I thought it was important that the film showed negative reactions to their religion and the internal struggles the characters faced. Many scenes felt so intimate that I felt like I was intruding. I thought it was kind of sad how Mathilde ended up staying with her husband.

Southland Tales 2006
I thought this movie was just very confusing overall. I had a really hard time following the plot. I was partly intrigued because I was waiting for it all to make sense and for everything to be wrapped up nicely, but I don’t think things were fully explained very well. I did find some moments to be funny, though.
