Seeing this on the big screen, in the 4K optimized for IMAX was incredible. Been a while since I saw it, and still love it. It's not quite 5 stars, but if I could do 4 and 3/4 I would. Just feel there's a little to trim. But all of Miyazaki's themes are front and center and it's just stunning.

Hey, did you like The Beekeeper? Did you like Taken? Do you want to see a movie that takes the worst of those movies, mixes that together with a minimum of cool action? Than you're going to love this movie.

There is something to be said for a movie that is a big, wild swing that fails spectacularly; something like Cats, say. But this isn't a spectacular failure, it's just not a very good movie. The positives: the movie looks good, with some good fights. Jackman and Reynolds obviously love playing these characters. I got a kick out of the cameos

The negatives: that's all this has. The plot is paper thin, with villains whose motivations are mostly, "We're the bad guys." The fourth wall breaking/references are dialed up to 13 and gratuitous needle drops to a point it's distracting. The emotional beats are equally thin.

As a fan of comic movies? Glad I saw it. Probably will not revisit.
