Train to Busan 2016
Not usually one for zombies, but this turned out to be a surprisingly intense family drama and social commentary all wrapped up in a deliciously over the top zombie train takeover. I laughed, I cried, I was hooked.

The Cabin in the Woods 2011
At the start it felt like it had the potential to be an interesting twist on the cabin in the woods scenario, but as it went along it just seemed more and more like every other film, except for the fact they were being watched on camera and Chris Hemsworth was there. Maybe it redeems itself at the end but my mubi subscription decided to cancel itself before I got there.

Wild Tales 2014
Shocking, funny, tragic, absurd, smart - loved the rollercoaster ride of these six revenge stories. Everyone is completely nuts but the sentiments are all too relatable and the tension really sucks you in. Really enjoyed the cinematography too, interesting camera angles and lighting. It was all very cleverly crafted to produce a powerful study on human nature.
