    I for one enjoy the big rocks being sifted and turned into concrete to the sound of electronica. Like the Qatsi trilogy meeting the Zion sequences in The Matrix Reloaded.

    And then we just randomly follow architect Michele De Lucchi in a field, just for a mild Gardener's World break as he tries to figure out his horticure project, forcing garderners to make round stone circles.

    The film really works in isolated fragments, but not sure the film stands up on its own.

    I did not like this much, but this is not a genre I like that much (body horror even more so), so take what I say with a pinch of salt.

    The Substance ultimately suffers from being as empty and vacuous as the industry it portrays. Touching on points that Sunset Boulevard touched years ago, it doesn't have interior goals beyond surface level black humour. it's the beauty equivalent of an anti-war film—when simply depicting something risks endorsing it.
