An American Werewolf in London 1981
We need to bring back practical effects 😫 that transformation scene was something else even today! Like seriously, I understand how game changing it must have been to watch that. Most underrated scene for me was when he was just pacing around the house, because like what are you supposed to do while you wait to inevitably turn into a monster! Acting reaaally lacked here and that girl character can’t actually be real. Shoud’ve just let her die at the end fr. Great 80s movie flick that was lighthearted all around but also super dark which is a unique balance that this did well.

Gladiator II 2024
I feel like this would’ve done better if it didn’t have to be Gladiator II and could’ve just been another story about a gladiator and the fight for power in Rome. Definitely doesn’t compare to the first but loved how it portrayed Rome and the luxury the few lived. It unfortunately felt like a few overused sets that made the grand scope of the Roman Empire feel like a family affair. Also bonus, Paul Mezcal might be the most Roman looking person they could’ve casted, even if for his nose alone.
