A quality film. A truly beautiful rendition of family and togetherness. Initially I worried we were going to linger with the family too long but ultimately that emotional character build up really pays off. I wanted to sit and live in these scenes where their family had so much love and joy together. Hats off to the craft and specifically to the dramaturgy for really bringing to life a foreign time and place for me.

In regards to Fernanda Torres' chances at oscar gold, a worthy nomination to be sure.

An incredibly solid movie on pain, acceptance, and how to rediscover our humanities through art and comraderie. Beautifully acted. Sneakily gorgeous to look at. All with Trojan horse messages on the prison system and systemic racism.

ELECTRIC! That's definitely the word that comes to mind here. I know I literally used this word in my last review but, this is Sean Baker's magnum opus!

Delicious, delicious, delicious interpersonal drama. Gorgeous to look at. Stunning pace. Out of this world performance by the whole cast. Mikkey Madison can punch her ticket to the Oscars baby.

Sean Baker masterfully lulls us into a state of bliss and euphoria but all the while, there is a sickening itch in…
