The Shrouds 2024
I found this concept super interesting in spite of the overly wordy, expository dialogue that the actors struggle and chew through. It’s clearly a very personal film for Cronenberg, with Cassel acting as a stand-in for the director himself.

Nosferatu 2024
Conflicted on this one. While it’s obviously well made in regards to the overall film craft, there were a lot of decisions I did not like at all. Not sure I loved any of the casting choices, aside from maybe Willem Dafoe but even he is becoming played out, and does a caricature of himself. Nicolas Holt I thought was especially bad. The Rule of Jenny Pen 2024
Truly an uncomfy watch. Not a single pleasant moment in the runtime. The horrors of a nursing home are worse than any haunted house. This hit a little too close to home with my mom having just retired January 1st from 40 years as a pt in a nursing home.
Even with the most mid movies I’ll finish them with a feeling that some day down the line I’ll probably watch it again, but I can confidently say I will never watch this movie again.
