  Portrait of a Lady on Fire is simultaneously the most striking and subtle film I’ve seen in recent memory. The fundamental mastery of cinematography and color theory in this film go without mentioning. Even someone with no formal training or studies of cinematic composition or color grading can observe nearly any frame in Portrait of a Lady on Fire and say:
