This was quite horrifying. I think it would’ve been more impactful if they had used the same actor who played Vicente throughout the story rather than using Vera at the end. But I understand why they didn’t.

This really makes me appreciate the original more than I did. Most of the special effects are terrible. The film Society did this concept better and that was in 1989. You’d expect special effects to get better, not worse, over time. But with the over reliance on CGI that’s not the case.
One thing I did like was the post credits scene and how that seemed to lead into the original film.

The Taking of Deborah Logan 2014
The first half is terrifying in a very real way. It forces you to face your own mortality, the possibility of growing old and being unable to care for yourself. Then the second half gets into more of the supernatural and it’s just as good. I thought this was really well done.
