I had to sit with my thoughts for quite some time after watching this film. I was so unsure how I felt about this recent project from Luca, however the more I think about it the more I seem to love it.

On a technical level ‘Queer’ is genuinely incredible, the cinematography, production design, original score, acting etc are all perfect and genuinely wonderful. It created such a unique vibe that fits the story very well. I knew I loved…

‘Nosferatu’ is a technical marvel and an atmospheric masterclass. It’s haunting filmmaking explores sexual and intimate themes so humanly within a story historically known for its monster. Eggers was not afraid to explore these topics, it fully delves into these themes with its images, acting and narrative. It showcases the themes more intensely than any previous adaptation of Dracula I have personally seen.

I think this could be the most accessible Robert Eggers film, he maintains his style but almost…

Visually remarkable in every sense of the word. The point of view style cinematography really promotes the authenticity of the narrative, it feels incredibly intimate seeing this story unravel through the character’s eyes. This was really impressive but I think I appreciated this more than I enjoyed it, This personally didn’t grip me as much as i was hoping it did. Still a good film just my expectations were just through the roof, hopefully it works more for me on a rewatch.

A stark examination of the human condition amongst unexpected and uncertain tragedy, the human element to this story was greatly elevated by the performances, truly remarkable acting particularly from Fernanda Torres. The scene where she has to hide her inner turmoil from the kids in the ice cream shop (the review background) was genuinely one of the most gut wrenching scenes I’ve ever watched. A heartbreaking story of reconciliation, a triumph in narrative storytelling.

I genuinely don’t understand how Fernanda Torres didn’t win the Oscar.

'There Will Be Blood' was astonishing, every single detail in this film felt so meticulous and honestly perfect. The themes, cinematography, acting, production design etc were all genuinely fantastic and some of the best I've ever seen in a film ever.

"I Want No One Else To Succeed."

    A true masterpiece!

'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' is an absolute mess. Everything about this movie is best described as ugly, from the CGI and set design to the dialogue and acting. This is truly a horrific start to Phase 5 in my opinion. It is everything wrong with Marvel in a 2 hour cliche riddled movie. I do feel sorry for Jonathan Majors as he is clearly trying his best but not even his best could save such a hollow script.
