Look its a biopic, so it was always gonna be a little clunky/corny/cliched BUT Timothy is awesome in this... mumbly and a dickhead and perfect for this role... monica barbaro as Joan Baez is awesome too.
i'll be listening to freewheelin bob dylan all week :)
Also - timothy's dirty room reminds me of gil's room - just saying
What's ironic is that steve carrel is 100% more stylish than ryan gosling - in my opinion at least - style can change I guess...
I found it quite funny I must say - it had enough twists not to be boring - and ultimately whilst some people might say its aged poorly and is not 'woke' enough they would be missing the point...
Whilst many horrible aspects of masculinity were portrayed - (Ryan Gosling's character has shades of Andrew Tate) ultimately: love, forgiveness, and making it work etc won out in the end...
Thats a good message for 2025.
Pretty Class tbh... I see danny sanchez has criticised it for its lack of a marxist take, but i think thats a little unfair... I think it did a pretty good job of portraying the vacuousness and the obsession with appearance that the super-rich have... Sure it wasnt a full on 'eat the rich' story in the way that parasite was... but I think thats okay.
It was GRIPPING! the time flew by, I was never bored, and didnt stop…
