About five minutes in, when Adrien Brody stepped onto the ship‘s deck and that brass hit, I had tears in my eyes. It‘s an overwhelming film - thematically, emotionally, but also just in its sheer size and ambition.
And yet, it also feels intimate and personal, with a Hungarian mid-century architect standing in for Brady Corbet and his trials and tribulations as a particular kind of filmmaker. Viewed under that light, I will probably be thinking about the film‘s ending…

If you’re looking for the „rough and real“ version of this story, keep moving. This is the kind of expensive, expertly-made mainstream movie that Hollywood used to do so well. The level of craft here is extraordinary, all the actors are great!
I‘d even say this is less of traditional biopic of Dylan and more of a snapshot of a particular moment in his life and career. As a character and as an artist, he remains as opaque as ever. …
