It has been a long taxing St. Patrick's Day for me and it may not result in success.

First saw this as a Blockbuster rental back in the day and the plane crash scene stuck with me. Very watchable, but a bit too polished. Still in my 2000's mood but I'm remembering why it was a lackluster decade for movies.

The Kubrick references in this are clever. The whimsical score prevents you from feeling scared while watching even though the film has an undercurrent of supernatural horror. The kid is creepy and we could have gone further with Nicole Kidman's descent into delusion and madness. Another user commented that the film should have ended with the kid up in the tree and I agree. It's captivating for much of its runtime, but it doesn't quite stick the landing for greatness.

An appropriately over the top movie for an extraordinary life. I’ve grown fonder of Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby adaptation over the years, so I didn’t want to miss his return to theaters. You should leave feeling overwhelmed and full. Great performances top to bottom, especially Austin Butler in the lead role. The soundtrack kicks in at just the right times. They somehow found the time to give Elvis’s influences their due attention. I didn’t expect an Elvis biopic that delivers in 2022, but that’s exactly what I got.
