I really liked this- the story was a great take on the classic chase after the bad guy and retrieve their kidnapped victim. The performances all around were fantastic, the cinematography was superb- I wish it had more marketing for more to discover it but I hope to one day have a physical copy on my shelf to revisit.

I enjoyed this- it was cute, funny and had a wonderful subplot of getting in touch with your roots. Like a family friendly spin on a Vacation movie. Should’ve gotten a theatrical and not dumped quietly on streaming.

Yes it rightfully holds an esteemed place in film history. The technical aspects and the performances are masterful. As Welles would want us to know- it isn’t the greatest of all time and film as an art keeps getting better as it’s explored. However holding this along side Edwin S. Porter’s The Great Train Robbery and the other masters who came along is an utter necessity.

Many consider The Good, The Bad and The Ugly the crowning entry in the Dollars Trilogy. I consider the middle entry to be it. The why the characters work with and interweave within the plot is just brilliant. Van Cleef delivers a truly memorable performance.
