  The Guyver (released as Mutronics in the UK) was an incredibly seminal film for me. The UK VHS release pre-dates the UK airing of Mighty Morphing Power Rangers which likely makes The Guyver my first exposure to tokosatsu. I can vividly remember being fooled by the VHS cover art into thinking Luke fucking Skywalker was playing a superhero, battling alien monsters, and my child mind was blown. It's amazing that they weren't sued for false advertising considering Mark Hamill plays…

  Slow-build, atmospheric horror at it's peak. The sound design is exceptional and every performance is played perfectly.
