  Fun! A little shaggy! More nasty than sexy, which I wasn't quite expecting...

  I guess there's a tiny amount of discourse around the excessive light bloom? Loved that, no notes. More movies should look like Deus Ex: Human Revolution. And more movies should be 93 minutes long and 4/5 stars and introduce the core stakes + characters at truth-serumed dinner parties

  In 35mm--the copy was pretty rough and clearly piecemeal, but it definitely added to the effect regardless

  My first Bergman! Life, death, comedy, and most things in between, in 96 minutes

  Stunning imagery throughout; the framing constantly had me in awe. The spot lighting!! The focus during the final castle sequence!! Unbelievable craft on display here. Made me want to watch a bunch of Kurosawa, too... I just want to live in a land of indelible images

  Real wolves! Long, long takes! Real castles! It's craft.

  My mouth was hanging open basically the entire time. Terrifying, dreadful, and so, so hot. I can't think of the last time a horror movie ended this well and hit me this hard.

  The physical and vocal performances are top-tier. The lighting is astonishing. I was worried after The Northman! It felt really airless, aimless, whereas this is tight (and claustrophobic), intense, and yet also takes its goddamn time raising the…
