Absolutely nothing of what I expected but exactly what was needed. Some movies just have their own tint of authenticity that is absolutely intoxicating. Especially impressive this managed to do so as a prison movie without some traumatizing moment defining it. Just a beautiful look into a bunch of men trying to humble and better themselves.

I see the original as the best but this is my favorite. While LaRusso goes on his “international” vacation to Okinawa/Hawaii, more focus is dedicated to enhancing the heart of the franchise, Mr. Miyagi. Getting his own redemption story was the right way to go for a sequel and stoic Morita delivers some of the most heartfelt moments in the franchise.

Outside of TMNT, this was the main contributor to why I was in a karate class for a short period at 7 years old. My hyper ass just couldn’t comprehend the idea of discipline and got bored.
The last half year has been personally rough to the point where it’s the first time I’ve found it hard to watch anything which has always been my normal escape to reboot. Now the only real exception is if nostalgia is involved so…
Took several decades but I finally understand the hype with this one. Generally gravitate toward the more wacky Coen Bros. movies and the strait laced ones fall behind. Something about the combination of the true story influence, the cast, and everyone sounding silly really did it for me today.
Think it’s finally time to watch the F/X series
