Famously Stevie Graham gets his wife to pick his scripts, is she ok? Maybe do something NOT depressing next, eh mate.
Very good, obviously. Episode 2 seemed like it was setting things up that we never come back to, with the other kids involved, but I may have had my tv crime drama head on too much for that one.
Would have liked a fifth episode tying the four together, but again not necessary.
It’s good, but..
I think this may be one of those movies that has been copied so many times it loses some of its impact. I can’t remember how I felt about it 20-odd years ago when I first saw it. Now I don’t think it would even be in my top 5 Friedkin movies.
I like that they achieve basically nothing.
Did not care for this. I like the poster.
There was a prerecorded Q&A after the screening which was not only more interestingly shot than the actual movie, revealed these nuggets:
-most of the script was abandoned as ‘scripts belong in the garbage’
-cast mostly non-actors who were encouraged to improvise
-Director has no interest in motorcross but ‘saw a couple of bikes growing up’

If none of your actors can do accents, DON’T MAKE THEM DO ACCENTS.
Sean Penn being consigned to live the rest of his life aboard a plane because he took too much anti-aerophobia drug and it flipped him the opposite is kinda funny in a profoundly stupid way.
No idea what was going on beyond that.
